the EIC answers to all questions about harmonised legislation in the EU. This legislation makes it possible that products can be commercialised in all Member States of the EU.

Select “Consumers” if you are looking for packaging and/or labelling rules.
Select “Technical-harmonisation” if you are looking for technical and safety rules for certain products.
Select “Taxation” if you are looking for VAT-tariffs, excise duties, etc. in the EU
You find many different product items. If you select one of them, you enter into an information note summarizing a particular EU-Directive. If you believe that this EU-Directive is relevant for your question of a client, you can find and download the full text from the EUR-LEX website http://europa.eu.int/eur-lex.
Step 2: Select “Search by document number” and complete the year and number of the document that you want to view. Select also the type of document (Directive, Regulation of Decision) or choose for “All legislation” if you are not sure.

! You may find here the indication “0055 CONSLEG”. This means that this Directive had some amendments after the approval of its original version. The best way to inform a company about such EU-text is to present the so-called CONSOLIDATED TEXT.
