Introduction:
The Support Measures and Initiatives for Enterprises (SMIE) project is a project that is financed by the European Commission's Enterprise Directorate-General in order to provide an integrated information resource on business support measures. It comprises a Support Measures database and a Good Practice database accessible via the Internet.

The SMIE-site contains almost 2500 support measures for enterprises in 26 countries. These countries are: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Iceland, Liechentenstein, Latvia, Norway, Poland and Slovenia. The information is available is English and in local languages.
