"ADVANCED IT SOLUTIONS AND COMPETITIVENESS OF SMEs IN CEE"
within the broader framework of 6th International Economic Forum
5-6 October 2006 Lviv, Ukraine
The International Workshop was focused on European perspective for increasing competitiveness of SMEs in CEE and the role advanced IT solutions could play in this process. Participants presented examples of IT solutions deployment by SMEs in the region highlighting the business benefits of IT solutions (or lack of those) for small and micro businesses. Participants were sharing cases studies on IT projects' implementation attempting to increase understanding of the current situation and to identify obstacles and potential leverages to speed up levels of IT solutions' adoption by SMEs in the region.
The workshop involved speakers from both SMEs with experience of IT solutions adoption and IT companies from Eastern Europe . Experts in this field and a number of other representatives of the companies operating in CEE market were also among the participants.
Representatives of consulting firms and research institutions from Western Europe shared with participants their experience in the field of development and implementation of advanced IT-technologies, possibilities of cooperation in joint projects. 45 professionals attended the workshop.
